After earning an M.F.A. from the University of California, I spent several years creating and exhibiting both functional and sculptural ceramics. Following the hiatus that resulted from a major relocation, I found myself returning to my earlier love of working with metal. I eventually began training as a bench jeweler, and have never looked back.

This photo was taken in the studio I created on the lower level of my home in Northern California. It has both a large indoor workspace and a partially enclosed outdoor area that I added on for working with materials that require ventilation.
